Freelance event manager
About Sweav
Sweav is a fast-growing tech platform and community, connecting A-player freelance strategy and M&A professionals with clients and projects.
Our purpose is to empower these A-players to take ownership of their time and career. So they can work where they make the biggest impact — and be a more productive member of society.
At the same time, we make it accessible for clients to work with these A-players. With a more flexible, human, pragmatic and cost-effective model than the traditional professional services firms.
Since launching in 2022, we’ve grown to a community of 350 freelancers and over 400 clients across private equity, corporates and scale-ups. We’ve doubled in revenue every year, and we expect to continue doing so. Sweav is currently with a team of 15.
About the job
Events are key to building strong connections with both our freelancers and clients. In this role, you’ll take ownership of all Sweav events throughout the year, including:
3x large client events – Think dinners with a great speaker, 40–80 guests.
8x informal office lunches – For new members to meet the team and each other.
3x bigger community events – From padel tournaments to parties and drinks.
You’ll handle the full process – from planning and invites to making sure everything runs smoothly on the day.
What we're looking for
Experience organizing events where guests showing up doesn’t happen by itself.
Strong process management – you keep guest lists updated, send reminders, follow up, and don’t let things slip.
Confident managing event venues and making sure everything runs smoothly on the day.
High standards for service and detail – everything should look great and feel right in line with our brand.
Comfortable working with external suppliers (think: flyer designers, gift vendors, etc.).
Proactive, takes ownership, and works well independently.
What we offer
A long-term freelance engagement.
Role for 8h on average a week. With some spikes during event weeks.
Lots of room to take ownership and improve what we're doing.
A young, informal and vibrant team – but one that’s ambitious and focused on getting things done. No politics.
Cool office in the center of Amsterdam.
Free healthy lunch.
Opportunity to build a network of high-end clients and freelancers.
Hybrid, with on-site presence required during events.
