Chief of Staff

Lead new market launches and strategic initiatives in a fast-growing scale-up.

Full-time

About Sweav

Sweav is a fast-growing tech platform and community, connecting A-player freelance strategy and M&A professionals with clients and projects.

Our purpose is to empower these A-players to take ownership of their time and career. So they can work where they make the biggest impact — and be a more productive member of society.

At the same time, we make it accessible for clients to work with these A-players. With a more flexible, human, pragmatic and cost-effective model than the traditional professional services firms.

Since launching in 2022, we’ve grown to a community of 350 freelancers and over 400 clients across private equity, corporates and scale-ups. We’ve doubled in revenue every year, and we expect to continue doing so. Sweav is currently with a team of 18.

About the job

As Chief of Staff, you work directly with the founders to drive Sweav’s most important strategic priorities, from market expansion to building new propositions.

This is a highly entrepreneurial, commercial, and hands-on role where you’ll take ownership of our most strategic initiatives.

It’s an exciting role – but not an easy one. You’ll be building new markets from the ground up, dealing with commercial, legal, and operational challenges along the way. That means reaching out to new clients who don’t know us yet (and get rejected by a majority of them), navigating local regulations and paperwork, and creating traction without big budgets or existing brand awareness.

If you enjoy that kind of challenge, you’ll love it here.

What you’ll be doing

Drive international expansion (≈ 80%)

  • Take full ownership of expanding Sweav to new countries (starting with Belgium and the UK)

  • Build commercial traction from scratch: develop relationships with potential clients and freelancers

  • Attract and onboard high-quality freelance consultants

  • Localize the Sweav proposition, positioning, and technology for new markets

  • Work closely with sales, marketing, and tech to execute the go-to-market plan

  • Become the main point of contact for these new markets

Build new propositions (≈ 20%)

  • Help design and refine new Sweav offerings

  • Lead the implementation and rollout of new propositions

What we're looking for

Must-haves

  • 3+ years’ experience in top-tier strategy consulting (e.g. McKinsey, BCG, Bain, Roland Berger, Strategy&, OC&C, or comparable firms)

  • Strong commercial instinct and affinity with business development

  • Highly self-starting and grinding mentality

  • Comfortable operating with a lot of freedom and ambiguity

  • Willingness to travel occasionally (Belgium/UK)

  • Fluent in English

Nice-to-haves

  • Experience in a start-up or scale-up environment

  • An entrepreneurial background (side projects, own company, unconventional experiences)

  • Previous exposure to sales or business development

  • Experience working internationally

*The requirements give an idea of the desired profile. Research indicates that men apply with a 60% match, while women usually apply only with a 100% match. If you are hesitant about meeting the requirements but feel this job might suit you, please contact Marleen at marleen@sweav.works.

What we offer

  • The chance to truly build something meaningful in a profitable, stable scale-up

  • A stepping stone toward a future commercial leadership or MT role

  • Direct exposure to founders and strategic decision-making

  • High autonomy and responsibility from day one

  • A young, informal, and entrepreneurial culture - no politics

  • Opportunity to build a strong network of high profile clients and freelancers
